Public Relations & Communications Ministry

Mission and Responsibilities

The mission of the Public Relations and Communications Ministry at Kahului Seventh-day Adventist Church is to share the message of Christ, strengthen our connection with the church family, and reach our local community and beyond through technology, livestreaming, and social media. We strive to make worship services, church events, and spiritual messages accessible to everyone, including those who are unable to attend in person. Through our online presence, we help people stay informed, connected, and engaged with the life and mission of our church.

An important part of our ministry is training and empowering the younger generation to serve through media and technology. Our youth are learning to operate the ATEM camera and video switcher, setting up equipment, adjusting zoom and focus, panning cameras, switching between camera angles, and adding presentation slides. They also learn to direct the camera crew by communicating and coordinating the next camera shots. Through hands-on experience, they develop technical skills, teamwork, leadership, and confidence while using their talents to serve God and the church.

Our ministry also manages the livestream broadcasts of Kahului SDA Church services on the Kahului SDA Facebook page and Kahului SDA YouTube channel. We work to provide an engaging and accessible viewing experience for our online congregation. In addition to broadcasting services, we interact with viewers through Facebook messaging, responding to questions and helping people stay connected with our church community. We also manage the church’s Instagram account, sharing updates, announcements, and content that highlights our church activities and outreach.

Through these efforts, Public Relations and Communications serves as a bridge between the church and the community. Our goal is not simply to operate cameras or maintain social media accounts, but to use communication and technology as tools for ministry, evangelism, connection, and discipleship—while preparing the next generation to continue sharing the gospel through the gifts and skills God has given them.
